At Mascoma Bank, we take fraud prevention very seriously, and we encourage you to do so as well. Unfortunately, because there are many people out there who are using more and more sophisticated methods to steal money through fraud and identity theft, it is important for all of our customers to know that Mascoma Bank will never ask for your account information or passwords via text messages or call your phone asking for that information. Nor will we ever contact you and ask you to log into digital banking. The only time we ask for personal information is when you contact us, and we need to verify you really are who you say you are.
To help make sure the information we have for you is correct, we are asking all our branch visitors to confirm that their contact information is up-to-date including home address, phone numbers, and email addresses.
If you ever receive a phone call from someone saying they represent the bank, asking for personal information, please hang up the phone. If someone texts or emails you, please do not respond. And please call us to report any of these occurrences. If we hear from customers that any particular scam is widespread, we will post an additional warning on this page.
Keep your personal information safe and we will help you stay protected while keeping your money safe as well. Want to learn more? These articles can help.
