Mara K. Pennell brings more than 20 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry to her role as Senior Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer at Mascoma Bank. She has an extensive background in commercial, residential mortgage, and consumer lending. Mara takes a collaborative approach to helping customers succeed in an ever-changing market. Through her work, she has also been able to provide financing to area nonprofits and partner with organizations to find solutions to the growing need for housing throughout Maine.
Mara is passionate about giving back to her community. She serves as president of the Educational Trust for her local schools and has served on both the Community Development and Housing Committees for the City of Bath, as well as on the board of the United Way of Midcoast Maine. As a volunteer, she teaches financial literacy in schools through both Junior Achievement and Jobs for Maine Graduates.
Mara graduated from Bentley University and received her master’s in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University. She lives in Topsham, Maine, with her two sons.
