The Center for New Beginnings (The Center) was founded in Littleton, NH, in 1985 as a psychotherapy provider for the North Country of New Hampshire.
What started out as mental health support for women and children suffering from domestic violence and sexual assault blossomed into a facility that serves all ages and people with all types of diagnoses, apart from severe mental illnesses.
The mission of The Center is to provide counseling and mental health services to family members of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and orientations within a safe, welcoming, respectful, and confidential environment.
The Center has five therapists licensed in New Hampshire as psychiatrists, social workers, and mental healthcare workers—plus alcohol and drug counselors who meet with clients. With regular talk therapy and telehealth, they cover topics such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, divorce, and grief.
Mascoma Bank has supported The Center for New Beginnings for many years. Sue Bouchard, Executive Director, says, “Mascoma Bank has been responsive and supportive with our grant programs and capital expenses, such as the repaving of our parking lot. We recently hired an intern, but because they were unlicensed, they couldn’t help with insurance billing. We still wanted to pay them a livable wage, but without money coming in from insurance companies, it was difficult. The last grant we received from Mascoma was instrumental in covering that gap during this internship. It has been great to work with Mascoma Bank, and we appreciate and respect their commitment to community needs.”
Mascoma Bank wishes further success for The Center for New Beginnings and is proud to support its mission to provide a safe and confidential environment for those who need it most.
